As an English teacher, it is Mr. McMillan's goal to help communicate the pleasure and comfort when delving into the past and the present with literature and writing. Regardless of one's age level, every student has the opportunity to find a part of a text that speaks to them. Ultimately, he wants students to understand that literature, writing, and life itself are all about human stories. By applying his fervent enthusiasm and long-standing love of literature and the writing process, Mr. McMillan promises to create real-world connections to help develop thoughtful, creative, analytical students. His students will become engaged citizens who will be able to clearly articulate their ideas in an environment of mutual respect. It is his ultimate goal for students to reach true intellectual, emotional, and social growth, as this growth will propel them past their own expectations for the subject matter and for themselves. Outside of school, Mr. McMillan enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Jessica, and their Siberian huskies, Bella and Paige. He enjoys reading non-fiction, film photography, traveling, and cooking. Mr. McMillan lives in Chesterfield, Ma. |
